“Packaged inside of every mistake their lays a great lesson and while I don’t want to take the mistake into the New Year, I certainly want to take the lesson that’s packaged inside of it.”
2020 was a whirlwind in more ways than one and affected everyone in its own way. While throughout the year a lot of people were affected financially and physically in a negative way, it also made us pay more attention to so many things that hopefully we will continue to practice internally and externally on a consistent basis.
For a lot of us the down time in 2020 was a blessing in disguise and a chance for us to get more in touch with ourselves and to see exactly what we wanted for ourselves in order to move forward. To be able to sit still and speak with God on a daily basis to see how to move forward, here are a few lessons that were gained in 2020 and that can hopefully be taken into this new year of 2021 by each of you:
#1 Stay true to yourself and Block out the noise – It is so easy to get caught up with what everyone else is doing and not paying attention to what your heart and soul is telling you to do. When you begin to do that you start putting unnecessary pressure on yourself. Instead of running to do what everyone else is doing, ask yourself what is best for you and then move accordingly. It is a breath of fresh of air once you realize that everyone handles this “new normal” in different ways and it is important for you to get in tuned with yourself so that you can stay true to what is needed for yourself as well as your loved ones.
#2 Go with the flow of what is being put into your heart and within your spirit by listening to what God is telling you to do – Last year was filled with so many ups and downs, which can weigh heavily on you mentally and emotionally to the point that it may be hard to hear from God at times. When this happens it can be helpful to start having an attitude of gratitude towards God and the many blessings he has continually given you all throughout the year. It is also important to meditate on the words of God and who he says you are. Once you begin to get in alignment with God’s word, it will eventually cause you to want to get a bit more bold with your thoughts which will then lead to fearless actions in order to start and keep walking in your purpose.
#3 Practice being bold, brave and confident – When you begin to get still, you may hear from God about a new opportunity that he may want you to take part in or that he may want you to create. When stepping into new territory for new opportunities, it may look and feel scary but it is up to you to constantly remember your why and that anything that God is having you do is all tied to your Purpose. Feed yourself the right words and the right affirmations, surround yourself with the right people and continue to learn as much as possible about the business/industry that your Purpose may be tied to.
#4 Black is Excellence!!!!! – During this time, a lot of light was put on the horrific treatment and murders of black people by police officers. Of course, this was not the first time that this issue was brought to light and because of that it brought about so much anger, pain and sadness due to the fact that we were still dealing with this in 2020. It also brought about protests from all over the country and world. These protests represented the importance of equality and justice that is very much needed right now and beyond. There is so much more that needs to be done especially politically, which is another post of its own but through it all, I WILL ALWAYS LOVE BEING BLACK and I WILL ALWAYS BE PROUD TO BE BLACK NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!
“I hope you realize that everyday is a fresh start for you. That every sunrise is a new chapter in your life waiting to be written.”
